We would like to invite you to submit an abstract for the ACGS Summer Meeting, taking place at the ICC, Birmingham on Thursday 4th - Friday 5th June 2026.

Your members want to hear from you - presentations can focus on new technology implementation, laboratory/automation projects, laboratory/process improvements, interesting cases, quality improvement projects - sharing knowledge and experience is at the heart of this conference.

We actively encourage participation from trainee Clinical Scientists and will award prizes in each of the three categories (noted below) from trainees including those who have recently registered. All trainees who have applied during abstract submission are nominees for the awards and they must be the first author (i.e. presenting author).

The deadline to submit an abstract is 23:59 on Sunday 8th of March 2026.

Abstract process:

Abstract category - to ensure we can include as many high-quality presentations as possible we welcome abstracts for:

• Standard presentation (12 minutes)

• Lightning presentation (5 minutes)

• Poster presentation

The word count limit for abstracts is 250 words - any submission over this will not be accepted.

Abstract submission is via mySociety, click on "events and conferences" at the top of the screen then use the “submit an abstract" button to upload. Please use the abstract submission form HERE and include the following details (these will not contribute to the word count) 

• Title

• Authors and affiliations (for the presenting author please include job title, band and whether you are a member of the ACGS)

• Contact email address for the presenting author

• Type of presentation

• Word count

Call for Papers

Log in or register on mySociety and follow these steps for submitting your Abstract:

1. Follow the link below entitled 'Click here for more information about submissions' to download an abstract submission form.

2. Fill in the form and upload using the Upload an abstract button at the top of the page.

3. Delegates will be notified if their Abstracts have been accepted 5 weeks before the event.

4. Please note: Once you select Save Changes to your Abstract, it will be submitted. You will then not be able to view, edit or delete it. If you want to make any changes contact membership@bsgm.org.uk
