BSGM seminar: NHSE Clinical Genomics Service transformation programme update
A BSGM lunchtime webinar.

Details

When? Thursday 11 December 2025, 12:30 to 13:30
Where? Online (Zoom)

A BSGM lunctime webinar to provide an update on the NHSE Clinical Genomics Transformation Programme

The existing NHSE Clinical Genetics Service specification was published in 2013. Since that time the NHS Genomics Medicine Service was established in 2018, and there have been significant developments in genomic medicine that need to be reflected in the requirements and practice of the Clinical Genetics Service. Transformation that includes a new future proofed service specification is required to support the Clinical Genetics Service to evolve and continue to deliver high quality care for patients.

This webinar will outline the progress made to date by the Clinical Genomics Service transformation programme, including:
  • updating the Clinical Genomic Service specification to ensure it is ambitious and fit for purpose now and for the future
  • development of guidance that will be required to support the Service
The session will provide an overview of the work completed to date and offer an opportunity for input, comments, and questions ahead of the formal consultation process. The event will be recorded and available via the BSGM website for members unable to attend live.

If you are unable to attend and have any questions you would like to submit in advance please send them to Liz Wilson.

Speakers

  • Emma Baple (Clinical Genomics Service Working Group Chair, Interim National Specialty Advisor for Genomics)
  • Alexandra Pickard (Deputy Director of Genomics Policy and Commissioning)
  • Roberta Rizzo (Consultant Genetic Counsellor , Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust)
  • Sarah Wynn (Chief Executive Officer of Unique)
